Started, again, with homework before breakfast.
Felt, it was a kind of pity, that I had missed the best part of the Hop-on/Hop-off tour (in my opinion), but when I checked the ticket, it seemed it was valid for 24 hours, not just for the day. Thus I choose the most beautiful way to a busstop and continued the tour. One of the things I wanted to see was the Japonees Garden. After we went through Palermo, a township in the upcoming – kind of hype… not my cup of thee in the way its done here, I left the bus for calling family in a park and go to the Japonees Garden. What a cue at the counter!! No way! Walking along the hedge, I could get quite a good impression. No reason to wait in line for … who knows how long.

Had a little snack at a Jewish restaurant (I figured, while I was sitting there) and tried to get back on the HO/HO… but it was 24 hours and 7 minutes… thus, no. I had to find another way to get home. Went through the next park, a little market and, finally, took a taxi. Still, had some groceries to do, some money exchange. And I wanted to go to a Tango-event in the evening. Had asked the host of the guesthouse for soe suggestions and got a long list of possibilities back 🙂 Did I tell, that at the exact moment, I was in B.A., they had two week of international Tango-festival and championship? (Didn’t see any of
First, I went to a Melonga. That’s a kind of local happening, on a square, somewhere in the neighbourhood. Everybody can join it. Four blocks from the guesthouse, there was one this evening. Seems, they always close the sunday market at that place with a melonga, now in the winter probably less visited than through the summer. But anyway. When I came there, a littele formation with traditional drums showed their skills. Loved to listen! After that, a bit music from a playlist, people started to dance. A band prepared for their performance, and then … it was almost undescribable! Sat there for hours, loved every minute! A little downpoint: a cafe at the square had music on two levels! On the ground floor Salsa, upstairs Jazz. Both on high volume. Was amazed, how the singer of the band at the Melonga was able to keep key and rithm of her own band, despite the distruction! Everbody there just enjoyed the evening, with love, passion and the freedom of the night. Everything was possible, nothing was mandetory.

I also had another venue on my list: a 24hour-vinyl-tango session. But after I had experienced this melonga… I didn’t feel the urge to go anymore.
