Time to move on
Happy to leave this backpacker place. My room was okay, had nice conversations. The whole setting was a bit … shabby, with a few very special guests.
The bus to Blenheim left on time. All the bus drivers are chatty, also this lady, though. Welcomed us in te Reo Maori. Explaining the landscape en special features in it. Today we learned about green mossels and fertilisers. The longer wait in Blenheim, I used to prebook my travels in Australia a bit more. Some kind of plan seems to evolve. Who would have thought!
The bus to Kaikoura was loaded! Thus, certainly, I am not the only one who travels New Zealand by public transport. We crossed mountains, drove along the coastline, saw seals and some newer reinforcements of the coat line, built after the last earthquake, I understood.
From the bus stop to the backpackers, it was a walk of about 2km. With all the luggage – good excercise, again. What a fine place, this is! A lively little town, the backpackers with pool, jacuzzi, sauna… and wood fired pizza oven. Today, it was pool and pizza for me. Done for the year (pizza-wise).
