Half a round in B.A.
From the bed it only was two steps to the desk. Though, I started with some homework, did my breakfast later. I decided to skip Tucamon (not today, later in the trip). Started to run a bit out of time and still hoped, I could make it work to also travel to Ecuador and Colombia. Thus, after Cordoba it will be Salta.
In Europe, when you book an accomodation via one of the websites, you get your confirmation, and that’s about it. Here, you get messages and mails from the accomocation. With additional information for your stay, making it more personal. With questions about your wishes, limits or allergies. You know each other, before you arrive. Nice touch.
Breakfast in the courtyard was amazing. What a lovely place. And immediately, I realised: the way I feel welcome at a place where I stay also determines how I experience the town or village. Seems to have quite an impact. AHA. It becomes more and more clear to me how I have to plan and organise my travels.
Took a round through San Telmo, the part of Buenos Aires, where I stayed. What a lovely part of the town(ship)! No skyscrabers, people talking to each other in the streets, nice little touches to the houses (others in disrepair). A nice vibe, friendly, people trying to make contact. Charming, almost a bit cuddly. In a kind of backyard, I found a place to exchange my money. And came a bit unexpected even along the San Telmo Market. A very special mixture between traditions and modern vibe, between regional products and people and almost unmessurable luxury.

Took the meal for the day at a typical Argentinian BBQ, in the market. Basically, you can choose between a kg of meat, a kg of carbons or 50/50. Great meat, great bakeries, and pastries with meat. Vegetables are garnish/salads. All fresh, nothing fancy. Didn’t touch the wine, they offered… still had to go back to work, this afternoon.
After work back into the city. At every corner, I decided, which street I liked the most, and went along. At some point, I had an encouter with a Hop-on/Hop-off. Why not? Took the biggest round, but half way I got distracted, left the bus and went back to the guesthouse, right to the probably most luxurious shopping mile in B.A. What an awefull overconsumption!
