ZOOM-day
You wanne know? #weskipthatpart
Did I mention, that the check in in the ‘hotel’ in Cordoba was kind of reared? At the door of the address, I found about 5 doorbells, none with a clear desciption. Tried them all. Several times. Via the usual apps after making the reservation, I had three phone numbers. No response at any of them. At some point, a young woman came and opened the door, asked me if I had to go in, understood my troubles and explained to me, that the check in was at the street food spot next door. Would have been useful information via the app 😉
The young men there had a challenge, with a foreigner as guest. The forms, the ID-differences, what is what? His card readers only could handle Argentinian cards. I didn’t have enough pesos, because I still didn’t find a place to exchange. Finally, we settled on payment in Dollar. The rate, he suggested, I didn’t agree on. I should him the conversion on the internet. Solved. Wouldn’t dare to complain: I got an entire apartment for three nights, with breakfast at these special place for about $100.
The entrance of the building was kind of high tech. Everything behind it not. The elevator had this kind of dubble door, you have to close yourself. And if you forget to close the inner door at the sixth floor… nobody else can call the elevator. When you can remember this kind of stuff… it shows your age 🙂 The apartment – living room with a dinner table, a sofabed and a kitchen in the closet, a bedroom, bathroom and balcony – was fairly clean. Functional. Central/on the edge of the city center.

In the late afternoon, I went for a walk, exploring the neighbourhood a bit. I needed to find a place to solve my cash-issues (and did!), had to do my groceries. At least, I wanted to try to cook in my closet-kitchen! In the cathedral, I found the peace to sort a bit all the emotions I have to deal with right now.
Back at my place, the digital world held grip of me, again. Until I left for a second round of exploring, not following any travel guide. The park at the other end of the city center became a big open air gym at the end of the day: jogging, lifting, pingpong, skating, dancing, yoga,… name it and you will find it there. The most special thing: a female firefighter running the stairs several times, in full outfit, with mask and all. Respect!

On the way back, I celebrated all the love I received from back home, from people I met on the way and the unexpected encounters.
