Day 2: One day – three countries

When we left Řevinice after breakfast, we started our way to Brno. The old city center is a kind of famous. Driving through a beautiful landscape, still avoiding highways, we talked about, we might have lunch in Brno. But in Bratislava, none of us had ever been. Thus, Bratislava became to goal of the day.
We yarned about social initiatives, we know, peace and war, health, biodiversity and knowledge about nature, healing and trusting yourself and your body. We kept it short about the elections in a part of Germany today. Disaster on its way…

Meanwhile, the landscape became a bit more flat, less forests, villages a bit more neglected. In Mladá Vočice, we stopped for lunch. I am too much into Czech dumplings….

In the afternoon, I started to look for a place to stay for the night online, somewhere near Bratislava. Too fancy, not enough rooms, too much a D-tour, too noisy (a party boat). Finally, I found one, made a reservation. And realised, that the hotel was already across the boarder in Hungary. To reach the hotel, the navigation sent us through Austria… didn’t see anything of Slovakia this time! We neither visited Brno nor Bratislava. Though, if you don’t have a plan, you always reach your goal 😀

On our way, we came along Novy Knin. A beautiful little town with a well preserved old city center. The Mincovna (means Mint) is a partly 16th and 19th century building. It houses the gold museum, they had gold mining in this region… never knew they had such a thing in Bohemia. I only knew about the silver mining in the north…

Dinner we had in a Csardas. Good food, even they didn’t have so much of the traditional dishes. Mist the violins! (Just plane music from the radio.)
