On the road to Albania – Day 1
We met near Dresden, already about 700km for me to drive to reach the spot.
Touch down … and go! We wanted to see Prague before nightfall. We thought. About an hour into travels, we talked about what we wanted to see in Prague. Long text short: nothing specific. Actually, we liked to stay out of the city.
Meanwhile, we discovered that, nowadays, you need an e-vignette for the Czech highways. We didn’t feel like buying one. Thus, off the highway it was, meandering alongside the Elbe (Laben), through picturesque villages, rolling hills and fairytale forests. We saw so much more of the country already!
Greenery and woods and waterways are more rooted in our hearts, anyway.
We chose to go around Prague on the Westside of the city, heading for Cesky Kras, a Karst landscape, with canyons and caves. There we had a sunset visit to Lom Vlaka Amerika, and started our search for a place to spend the night.
In Řevenice, we found a little hotel near the train station, had some local food, a good talk and some ideas for tomorrow.
