Kuldiga – a special place!
Shortly after the border, we visited the amber information center, walked along the beach and tried to catch some amber ourselves. Quite funny, fine to be out of the bus for a while.

Baltic Landlord:
‘Das Leben zu geniessen ist der Vernunft Gebot: man lebt ja nicht so lange und ist so lange tot.”

Kuldiga
Kuldiga is a city to remember. And not just for its astonishing waterfall, not very high, but wide and just amazingly beautiful! The walk trough the city was no less of it. A nice little church, a house the king of Sweden left it cloth trunk, brilliant little shops and boutiques!

Some houses might need some colour, but despite of that, they didn’t loose any of their beauty. Could have been there for hours! (But that is indeed the downside of traveling with a group… you have to fit your dream and wishes into their schedule!)

Kuldiga is one of the most romantic places I’ve ever seen.
And for the sportive once: they have a marathon through the shallows of their little river, just over all the river stones in it. Like to try? Sort it out!

On our way to Jurmala we drove through Sabile, saw some wine hills through the bus windows. Didn’t even stop for the doll in the yard, which are dressed differently 9 times a year of so. Surroundings are called Livlands Swiss.

Abava was on the schedule, but I do not really remember that.
Jurmala
Just outside of Riga, we hit for the beach. The walk we took through Jurmala let us along (very) rich villa’s. Arriving at the beach, we only could draw one conclusion: we had a poor preparing for the beach – no swimsuit, no towel. Just a bit money for some ice-cream or so.

Riga
After dropping our stuff at the hotel we decided for an evening walk through the inner city. Just around the corner, we met German bears – one for each country of the world; a present for some anniversary of the city.

The whole inner city in the evening was about music, food and drinks. You might have a good time at any corner, street or square.
We settled for some jazz, fresh French fries and …shoes.

Our hotel was really near the cathedral, in a historic building itself, nothing straight forward, a lot to discover.
