Riga
In the morning, the group went off for a visit to the Jugendstil quarter, for once I stepped out of it, did some work and, actually, enjoyed the tranquillity of some lone-time.
Of course, I did not wanted to miss the organ concert in the oldest cathedral of the Baltic states, the St. Marien Dom. Thus, quickly I joined in, again. The dom has still with some roman features. Impressive!
After lunch we met for a literature city walk. Loved that! The gay – I should remember his name! – had some prepared and some spontaneous poems. Interesting, funny, educational and with a lot, really a LOT of lovely energy. You see, with such way of looking at a city, the whole city becomes more and more a stage for – basically its own – story.
Before we went for the boat trip over some channels and to the seaway, we had a medieval dinner in the city center. Grown up with the strict requirements concerning authentic requisites and behaviour of the Slag om Grolle, which I helped to organise for a few years, I was a bit disappointed by the level of performance 😉
Walking back to the hotel, we discovered more lovely places and spots in the city.
